Doctor’s Work Is As Great As God’s Work: Dinesh Gundurao

Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the reason behind the deification of doctors is that it is a service-minded act. He was speaking at Vidhana Soudha on Monday, while participating in the National Doctors’ Day celebrations. Government is committed to provide necessary facilities to doctors. The Minister said that if we take good care of doctors as a government, doctors will take good care of the health of our people.
After our government came, we have tried to bring a lot of improvement in the health department. Initially, no medicine was supplied to government hospitals. Only 30% of the medicines were supplied by the pharmaceutical corporation. Now there has been a lot of improvement and 80% of medicines are being supplied to government hospitals. Health Minister Dinesh Gunderson assured the doctors that the supply of medicines would be completely restored within the next two months.
For the last 30 years there was no revision of cadre and recruitment rules in the health department. The revision is now in its final stages and will be implemented within a month. He said that especially after 8 years, the transfer of health department is being done through counselling and transparent administration has been brought in the department.
