In a significant initiative to enhance child care and promote educational growth, a new Anganwadi centre was inaugurated in the Gopalappa Layout of Dodda Bidarakallu ward, Yeshwanthpura constituency, by MLA S.T. Somashekar. This event, organized by the Department of Women and Child Development, marks a crucial step forward in improving child welfare within the community.
During the inauguration, Somashekar underscored the centre’s vital role in providing a nurturing environment for young children. Anganwadi centres are not just about child care; they are essential for educational development as well. By providing nutritious meals and a supportive atmosphere, these centres lay the groundwork for a brighter future, he stated. The MLA emphasized that further efforts would be directed toward enhancing educational standards in government schools and colleges throughout the constituency.
Additionally, Somashekar highlighted the government’s commitment to combating malnutrition among schoolchildren. In conjunction with the mid-day meal scheme, the government has introduced nutritious supplements like eggs, bananas, and groundnut chikki. This initiative aims to create a new benchmark in the educational sector by addressing both learning and nutrition, he noted.
The inauguration was attended by various local leaders, including Congress Ward Committee member Travels Manjunath, Ward President Nikhith Gowda, Keshavamurthy, and Women’s Vice President Bhagyamma. This development promises a positive impact on the community’s children, providing them with a conducive space for both physical and intellectual growth.
