Jamshedpur Football Club has confirmed that Khalid Jamil will continue as head coach for the next two years. Khalid, an experienced AFC Pro Licensed Coach and the FPAI Coach of the Year for 2020-21, took over mid-season last year when the club had only two wins out of 11 games. His leadership turned things around, leading the team to the semifinals of the 2024 Kalinga Super Cup with three consecutive league victories.

We aim to win the ISL. Our fans deserve it for their tremendous support. We are building a team dedicated to this goal in every training session and match. The club management and I share a common vision on improving from last season and addressing our shortcomings, Khalid said. Jamshedpur has an incredible fan base and a rich football legacy with the Tata Football Academy and the JSA League, which is nearly 80 years old.

Under Khalid, Jamshedpur FC gained 11 points with three wins and two draws in his first five ISL games, remaining unbeaten and keeping playoff hopes alive until the penultimate match of the 2023-24 season.

Khalid’s track record aligns with our goals. His extensive experience, understanding of Indian football, and passion have resulted in significant achievements. We are already preparing for the upcoming ISL season with Khalid as the right leader, said Jamshedpur FC CEO, Mukul Choudhari.

With a busy Indian football calendar ahead, the club will compete in the Durand Cup, Indian Super League, and Super Cup. The pre-season camp is expected to start in July, with new signings to be announced soon.
