Tommy Paul secured his third ATP Tour title and his first on grass at the Queen’s Club Championships by defeating Lorenzo Musetti 6-1, 7-6(8) in the final. This victory, his 27th tour-level win of the season, will see Paul surpass Taylor Fritz to become the American No. 1 for the first time in his career. The 27-year-old will rise to No. 12 in the ATP Rankings on Monday.

Paul showcased his strong form throughout the week, dropping just one set. He previously won his first tour-level title in Stockholm in 2021 and claimed another in Dallas this February. His Queen’s Club victory is his first at the ATP 500 level.

Paul started the final match with great intensity, quickly taking the first set with a couple of breaks. In the second set, Musetti fought back, taking an early 2-1 lead. Paul broke back to go 5-4 up and served for the match, but Musetti leveled at 5-5, pushing the set into a tiebreak.

During the tiebreak, Paul earned a match point, which Musetti saved, then Musetti had a set point. Paul fought hard, saving the set point, and secured a second match point. This time, Paul’s powerful serve forced an error from Musetti, sealing the victory for Paul. Additionally, Paul received an Honorary membership at the Club in recognition of his win.
