Two Alumni Of Punjab’s Armed Forces Preparatory Institute Join IAF

After graduating from the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad on Saturday, two of Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) for Girls’ students in Mohali, Punjab, Haroop Kaur and Nivedita Saini, have been commissioned as Flying Officers in the Indian Air Force (IAF). This is just one more achievement for the school.
Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, the Chief of Air Staff, evaluated the passing out parade.
Flying Officer Nivedita Saini’s father, Harinder Singh Saini, is a principal in a government school and is from the Pathankot area; Flying Officer Haroop Kaur, who will be joining the education branch, is the daughter of Bhagwant Singh, a Head Constable with the Punjab Police.

Flying Officer Nivedita Saini will be assigned to the Air Force’s Logistics Unit.
Minister for Punjab Employment Generation Aman Arora congratulated the two girls on their achievements and stated that they will inspire more Punjabi daughters to look into chances for a career in the armed forces.
He continued, saying that the administration is dedicated to achieving the dreams of the state’s daughters who wish to become commissioned officers in the armed forces.
In July 2023, the government opened an NDA prep wing at Mai Bhago AFPI for girls. The second cohort is currently receiving instruction.
Under the auspices of the Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department, Mai Bhago AFPI operates the nation’s only residential campus featuring cutting-edge facilities.
