Hero MotoSports Team Rally kicked off its campaign at the fourth round of the FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) 2024, the Desafio Ruta 40. Leading both rider and manufacturer rankings, the team aims to maintain its top position.

Returning to South America for their second appearance at DR40, the team began positively, with Ross Branch securing a podium finish in the Prologue stage. The team includes riders Ross Branch, Sebastian Buhler, new member Ignacio Cornejo, and test rider Ramiro Barco from Peru, competing in the Rally 2 novice category.

In the first stage, Rally GP riders Buhler, Branch, and Cornejo finished 4th, 5th, and 10th respectively, while Barco placed 9th in Rally 2. The 505 km loop around Cordoba challenged riders with demanding tracks and tough tire management.

The 12th edition of Desafio Ruta 40, scheduled earlier this year, takes place in Cordoba, known for its motorsport enthusiasm. Covering 3,061 km, including 1,792 km of specials, the rally draws large crowds, boosting the athletes’ morale.

The Hero MotoSports team is focused on defending its championship lead. Stage 2 will move the rally to San Juan, covering 724 km, including 423 km timed.
