Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar disclosed that doctors at Sassoon Hospital replaced the juvenile’s blood sample with another and discarded the original sample. During a press conference, Kumar explained that the doctors involved have been arrested and charged under various sections of the IPC.

Pune Police also arrested another suspect in connection with the luxury car accident that killed two motorcyclists in Pune city, officials said on Saturday. The latest arrest is linked to the alleged tampering of the minor’s blood sample. The accused, identified as Atul Ghatkamble, works at Sassoon Hospital.

On May 19, at around 11 am, the blood sample taken at Sassoon Hospital was discarded, and another person’s sample was sent to the forensic lab. Chief Medical Officer Srihari Halnor replaced the sample under instructions from Ajay Tawre, the Head of the Forensic Medicine Department, Kumar stated.

He added, We suspect that the initial report cleared the juvenile of alcohol consumption. A second, secretly taken sample matched the DNA of the juvenile’s father.

The Crime Branch is also searching for the person whose blood sample was used as a replacement. Previously, the Crime Branch arrested the grandfather of the minor involved in the case on May 25, filing a separate FIR against him under IPC sections 365 and 368. The minor crashed his Porsche into two IT professionals on May 19, killing them instantly.
