Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi accused the BJP of orchestrating a new conspiracy by halting water supply to the national capital through its Haryana government. Responding to Atishi’s claims, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva accused AAP of fabricating lies due to fear of defeat in the Lok Sabha polls.
At a press conference, Atishi stated that BJP has been conspiring against AAP since the announcement of the Lok Sabha polls. She mentioned instances such as Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest and alleged framing by Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Atishi claimed that the BJP’s Haryana government deliberately stopped Yamuna water supply to Delhi.
Sachdeva countered by alleging corruption and inaction in the AAP government, pointing out Kejriwal’s letter from Tihar regarding water supply issues.
Atishi highlighted the unusual decline in Yamuna water levels, prompting complaints of shortages even in areas unaffected previously. She vowed to address the issue with the Haryana government and seek urgent intervention from the Supreme Court if necessary.
Accusing BJP of tarnishing AAP’s image and causing distress to Delhi residents, Atishi warned of further manipulative actions until May 25 to sway voters. She asserted that such tactics would not deceive the people of Delhi.
