District Election Officer and BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath has announced plans to send messages to voters in Bangalore city district via IVRS and bulk SMS, urging them to vote on April 26.
In an effort to increase voter turnout for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, various awareness programs have been conducted, with a focus on grassroots-level initiatives across different zones.
Nath highlighted the availability of property tax payer information in the corporation’s revenue department, which will facilitate the dissemination of voting reminders through IVRS and bulk SMS.
Additionally, special needs individuals and senior citizens can now register through the Saksham software for advanced transport arrangements to polling stations. Registration on the Saksham software is open until 5 pm on April 24, with Election Officers from Bangalore North, Bangalore South, and Bangalore Central overseeing the process.
The Saksham software is aimed at facilitating the electoral participation of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by simplifying the registration process and providing information about polling stations.
