Must read

Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, who made her Tamil debut with Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Hero’, and was last seen in director Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Maanaadu, which had Silambarasan aks Simbu playing the lead role, has opened about being a star kid and has confessed that she wouldn’t be cinema if it wasn’t for her father, Priyadarshan, who is a director, writer and producer.
The pretty actress is the daughter of filmmaker Priyadarshan and Malayalam Actress Lissy. Responding to a fans question on what if she wasn’t a director’s daughter, Kalyani Priyadarshan said, “I get asked this a lot and I’ll be honest. I don’t think I’d have worked in cinema if it wasn’t for my dad’s influence on me in my childhood.”
“Cinema was how we bonded. I used to get such little time with him as a kid and used to love having chats with him about movies and how they are made. It was so magical and he’d have a spark in his eyes when he spoke. We used to bond over watching great movies together and he’d always have interesting facts on how they are made. Made me want to be a part of this world too,” she added.
“I’ve seen him go through so many ups and down and learnt the industry can be a cruel place sometimes but the spark in his eyes never faded. I knew back then somehow I’d end up working in cinema,” concluded Kalyani.
