Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress on Friday for its approach to the Kashmir issue, stating that the party treated Article 370 like a cherished possession until it was revoked. Speaking at a rally in Moradabad, Shah also rebuked Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for suggesting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi refrain from discussing Kashmir while campaigning in other states.

Shah questioned, Isn’t Kashmir an integral part of India? Khargeji wonders what Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have to do with Kashmir. He emphasized the emotional connection of Moradabad’s residents with Kashmir, asserting their willingness to sacrifice for it.

For 70 years, the Congress treated Article 370 as its own, Shah remarked, referring to the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under the Article. He credited Prime Minister Modi for abolishing Article 370 on August 5, 2019, which he stated has led to the prideful display of the Indian flag in Kashmir.

Shah also highlighted Modi’s approach to governance, dividing the country into four categories – women, poor, youth, and farmers – to ensure comprehensive development. Sarvesh Singh, a five-time BJP MLA from Thakurdwara assembly constituency in Moradabad, is contesting against Ruchi Veera of the SP in the upcoming elections.
