Cong Has Covert Alliance With SDPI, MLA Bharath Shetty Alleges

MLA Bharath Shetty alleged that the Congress party has formed a covert alliance with the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). The alliance with a party that is facing accusations in the murder of BJP worker Praveen Nettaru shows the mindset of the Congress, Shetty told media persons.

The SDPI, which was in the fray in all elections, has refrained from contesting the Lok Sabha election this time. This is an indication that the party is supporting the Congress, he said. The Congress, which supported the accused in the cooker bomb blast case, is now joining hands with those who are behind Praveen Nettaru’s murder, Shetty alleged.

Launching a tirade against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the MLA said that the government has failed utterly in implementing development works in the state. Though the government presented the budget, no development work has been initiated, and projects launched. The Congress government has not come out of the hangover of the assembly poll result. They have forgotten that the upcoming election is a national poll. Confusion prevails in the INDIA alliance, which lacks leadership, he said. He accused the Congress government of engaging in divisive politics in the name of castes and religions.

MLA Shetty claimed that the roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be held on April 14 will be a historic event. The Prime Minister had recalled the previous roadshow he held in the city in 2019, during his Mann ki Baat programme too. The road show will bring zest to the BJP campaigns in the district, he added.
