Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav revealed the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, pledging various reforms including a caste-based census by 2025, legal assurance for Minimum Support Price (MSP), and abolishing the Agnipath scheme.

Titled ‘Janta Ka Maang Patra – Humara Adhikar,’ the 20-page document was unveiled at the SP headquarters in the presence of senior party members. Akhilesh Yadav proposed a PDA (Pichde, Dalit, Alpasankhyak) government, aiming to uplift backward classes, Dalits, and minorities.

Yadav emphasized the importance of a caste-wise census to fill vacant government posts by 2025 and the abolition of the Agnipath military recruitment scheme. Additionally, the manifesto pledged to reinstate the old pension scheme, ensure private sector inclusivity, and eradicate poverty by 2029.

The SP vowed to safeguard women’s rights with a zero-tolerance approach towards crimes against them, promising a nationwide helpline and 33% reservation in Parliament and Assemblies within two years. Other commitments include free flour instead of wheat, free mobile data for ration card holders, and increased budget allocation for education and healthcare.

Yadav stressed that the upcoming elections are crucial to protect democracy, warning against potential changes to the Constitution and voting rights if the BJP remains in power. He criticized the BJP’s handling of electoral bonds and alleged corruption, calling for transparency in political funding.
