Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav demonstrated his support for traditional pottery by crafting a diya on a potter’s wheel in Bhopal on Monday, in preparation for the upcoming Diwali festival. He expressed his enthusiasm for the festival of lights, emphasizing its significance in bringing people together.
Diwali brings great joy, and it involves various activities and rituals like Laxmi Pujan, which create employment opportunities and support livelihoods. Our goal is to promote these traditions under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, CM Yadav shared with reporters after making the diya.
He also mentioned his heritage as a descendant of Lord Krishna and noted that Govardhan Puja would be celebrated with special fervor across the state this year. This year, we will celebrate Govardhan Puja joyfully throughout Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, we are focused on cow protection, promoting cow rearing, and increasing milk production in the state, he added.
As Diwali approaches, Yadav extended his best wishes to the people of Madhya Pradesh. He announced a 4 percent increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees, raising it from 46 to 50 percent, effective January 1, 2024. I wish everyone a happy Diwali and look forward to progressing with support from all segments of society, he concluded.
