Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has gained attention for his remarkable performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Following his three-wicket haul against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Yadav expressed that dismissing Cameron Green was particularly special to him among other wickets. In a video shared on IPL’s official social media handle, Yadav mentioned that the aggressive over where he got Green’s wicket was prompted by LSG skipper KL Rahul’s instructions to attack and use bouncers. Yadav emphasized that their strategy was to bowl at the stumps and deny RCB batters any room to play shots.
During the match against RCB, Yadav took three wickets, conceding only 14 runs in his four-over spell, earning him the ‘Player of the Match’ title. Yadav made history at the age of 21, becoming the first bowler in IPL history to win the award in their first two matches.
