Minister Krishna Byregowda said that the district commissioners have been instructed to deliver the first installment of drought relief money to the farmers as soon as possible.

After the monthly meeting with all Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Divisional Officers held at Vikas Soudha on Friday, he held a press conference and informed, the information of 75 percent of the farmers in FRUITS software has been updated and the first installment of drought relief money will reach the bank account of 30 lakh farmers in the next one week.

In the past, there have been huge irregularities in providing drought and rain damage relief to the farmers. It have come to my notice of many cases where the land belongs to someone and the compensation goes to someone else. An amount of Rs 6 crores in one taluk of Kadur was spent illegally. I have a list of those who have misappropriated money. Similar cases were also found in Hanagal and Shiggaon, Krishna Byregowda said.
