City District Collector KA Dayanand has taken decisive action by suspending the license of Jetlag Pub in Yeshwantpur for 25 days. The move follows an incident where the ‘Katera’ film team, including actors Darshan, Neenasam Sathish, Dolly Dhananjay, Abhishek Ambareesh, Chikkanna, producer Rockline Venkatesh, director Tarun Sudhir, and music director V. Harikrishna, allegedly violated pub and excise rules by hosting a party at the establishment. The Subramanyanagar police had registered a case against the pub under the Karnataka Police Act and the Excise Act, citing the violation of rules during the celebration that ensued after the success of the ‘Katera’ movie. This marks the first complaint against Jetlag Pub for such violations, and the District Collector’s suspension of the license for 25 days serves as a stern warning. The order prohibits the pub from engaging in liquor business during the suspension period. District Collector Dayanand stated, The Deputy Commissioner of the Excise Department reported violations by Jetlag Pub, including allowing parties. Based on this report, the license has been suspended for 25 days, serving as a consequence for breaching excise rules. This action underscores the authorities’ commitment to enforcing regulations and maintaining order in the city’s establishments.
