Former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa made controversial remarks against the Congress party, warning that if its policy of appeasing minorities continues, it could lead to dangerous consequences. He stated that the party’s focus on pleasing the Muslim community could eventually harm Hindu interests and create unrest. He urged Congress to stop its Muslim appeasement policy, suggesting that it may lead to violence.
Eshwarappa also raised concerns about the growing number of Waqf land registrations in the state, accusing the government of ignoring the issue. He claimed that not just agricultural land, but also temples, schools, colleges, and historical sites were being turned into Waqf property. He cited the village where Sir M. Visvesvarayya was born as an example.
The former Deputy Chief Minister criticized Congress leaders for staying silent on these issues. He particularly condemned their failure to defend Dr. BR Ambedkar after claims that he was considering conversion to Islam.
Eshwarappa also expressed concern over Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s proposal to allocate 4 percent of government contracts to Muslims, calling it an attempt at vote-bank politics. He questioned whether such actions could lead to the division of the country, asking rhetorically if they intended to turn India into Pakistan.
