BJP State General Secretary and MLA Sunil Kumar has criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for falsely claiming that the BJP is attempting to buy MLAs. He suggested that the Chief Minister’s statements were made in fear of losing his position before the by-election results are declared.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Sunil Kumar said that the internal problems within Congress and the discussions among its leaders could threaten the Chief Minister’s position. He hinted that the Congress High Command might replace Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister soon. He further criticized Siddaramaiah for telling lies during his tenure, calling this particular claim the “hundred and first” falsehood.
Kumar stated that the Chief Minister’s comments are intended to intimidate both the ruling party’s legislators and the opposition by creating a sense of threat. He argued that Siddaramaiah, fearing the loss of his seat, may be offering large sums of money to hold onto his MLAs.
