The much-anticipated Koti Gita Yajna, integral to the 4th alternation of the revered prelates of Puttige, one of Udupi’s Ashta Maths, commenced on a grand note with a two-day Geethotsava program at the National College playground in Bengaluru. Under the guidance of the distinguished prelates, Sugunendra Theertha Sripadu and Sushindra Theertha, this monumental initiative aims to engage over one crore individuals in transcribing the sacred verses of Bhagavad Gita. The inaugural day saw the arrival of a scripture containing the 18 chapters of Bhagavad Gita, escorted in a silver chariot, amidst the chants and presence of thousands. The event witnessed the participation of notable personalities, including Transport Minister Ramalingareddy, actor Jaggesh, actress Radhika Narayan, and News editor Ravi Hegde. On the subsequent day, the Geethotsava culminated with a Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana led by Aralu Mallige Partha Sarathi, conducted in the esteemed presence of both pontiffs. Distinguished figures such as Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, HS Prema, and Satchidananda Murthy graced the closing ceremony, emphasizing the cultural and spiritual significance of the event. Simultaneously, a prize distribution ceremony honored the winners of various competitions centered around Bhagavad Gita, enriching the Geetutsava experience. Over one crore individuals worldwide are set to inscribe and dedicate themselves to transcribing Bhagavad Gita during the tenure of Puttige Shri, presenting a two-year window for participation in this monumental undertaking. This initiative aims to transcend caste barriers, drawing millions from across the nation to unite in this profound endeavor, fostering unity and reverence toward the timeless wisdom encapsulated in Bhagavad Gita.
