Butter Dosa is famous for its history and to give it a branding, the district administration has organised Butter Dosa festival from December 23 to 25, Deputy Commissioner Dr MV Venkatesh said.
He was addressing a meeting of officials regarding preparations for the Dosa Utsav. The date and venue have already been discussed with the hotel owners. Davangere Nagar M.B.A. A dosa festival is organized in front of the MBA Glass House, where dosa can be enjoyed from 8 am for three days.
Around 5 lakh people are expected to participate in the butter dosa festival. Two locations have been selected for this. A meeting has already been held with Dosa hotel owners and more than 10 hotel owners will participate. By organizing a dosa festival, the purpose of this festival is to preserve the traditionality of Davangere Dosa and to maintain the quality and branding of Butter Dosa.
He said that dosa hotels will be given an official tag in the near future based on the criteria, for which food safety act compliance, quality, non-adulterated food standards will be given this tag.
Additional Deputy Commissioner PN Lokesh, Sub-Divisional Officer Durgasree, Corporation Commissioner Renuka and various department officials were present in the meeting.
