Scrutiny On Extension Of Jyoti Sanjeevini To The Staff Of Aided Schools, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the extension of Jyiti Sanjeevini scheme to the staff of aided schools in the state will be reviewed after looking at the financial situation of the state.

He answered a question on dot identification by member Hemalatha Naik in the Legislative Council on Thursday.

On behalf of Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust has entered into an agreement with network hospitals to provide cashless medical treatment to government employees and their dependents for seven specifically identified life-threatening diseases such as heart disease, cancer, neuropathy, kidney and urinary diseases, neonatal and infant diseases, burns and accidents. Sanjeevini scheme will be implemented from 2015 onwards.

This scheme is designed for government employees only. No subsidised employees are covered under the scheme. He said that there is no proposal before the government to extend the Jyoti Sanjeevini scheme to the subsidized employees and the matter will be reviewed after looking at the financial situation of the state.

11,677, 24,383 and 5,848 staff are working in 2,686 primary, 3,756 high school and 821 pre-university colleges respectively in the state, he said.
