Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has expressed his gratitude to Harbhajan Singh for bringing him into the Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024. He praised Harbhajan’s integrity, saying, Paji juban ke pakke hain (Harbhajan is true to his word). Tiwary, who debuted for Bengal in 2004, has nearly 10,000 first-class runs at an impressive average of 48.56, with 29 centuries and 45 half-centuries. His international career included a notable century against the West Indies in 2011.
In August, Harbhajan’s team, the Manipal Tigers, secured Tiwary for Rs 15 lakh in the LLC auction. Tiwary shared that Harbhajan had encouraged him to join the league for the past two seasons, but he was busy with competitive cricket. Now retired, Tiwary finally reached out to Harbhajan, who quickly welcomed him to the team.
He emphasized the growing competitiveness of the LLC, noting that it requires physical preparation and focus on recovery between games. With the tournament set to start at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur, Tiwary highlighted the strong team bond fostered by Harbhajan’s leadership and humor. The LLC 2024 will also feature other stars like Dinesh Karthik and Shikhar Dhawan, enhancing the excitement of the tournament.
