The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) reiterated its commitment to passenger safety, assuring readiness to respond swiftly to any emergencies that passengers might encounter during their commute. Highlighting the vigilance of their security personnel, BMRCL emphasized the multiple channels available for passengers to seek immediate assistance in distressing situations. Passengers were urged to utilize the designated control center telephone numbers, 080 2519 1208 and 080 2216 2258 / 2208, along with the toll-free helpline 1800-425-12345, as primary points of contact during emergencies. Moreover, the emergency alarm bell system, equipped with four alarms in each coach, stood as an additional means for passengers to directly communicate with train operators, enabling prompt aid either at the approaching or subsequent station. A recent incident on the Rajajinagar to MG Road route underscored the efficacy of these safety measures when a female passenger sought assistance upon disembarking at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda station-Majestic. The swift response of BMRCL security personnel was instrumental as they immediately intervened when the passenger reported being assaulted by a man. Without hesitation, the security personnel apprehended the individual responsible and promptly handed him over to the nearest police station. BMRCL swiftly addressed the matter, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring a secure and safe commuting environment for all passengers. The incident served as a testament to the proactive stance and swift action taken by BMRCL in upholding passenger safety, reinforcing their dedication to promptly addressing and mitigating any untoward incidents occurring within the metro system.
