Following his recent visit to Israel, tech billionaire Elon Musk has received an invitation from Hamas to visit Gaza and witness the aftermath of the territory’s destruction due to Israeli attacks. The invitation was extended by senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan during a press conference in Beirut. We invite him to visit Gaza to see the extent of the massacres and destruction committed against the people of Gaza, in compliance with the standards of objectivity and credibility, stated Hamdan. In response to the invitation, Musk expressed concern about the current situation, citing its perceived danger. He acknowledged, Seems a bit dangerous there right now, but I do believe that a long-term prosperous Gaza is good for all sides. During his visit to Israel, Musk went to Kfar Aza, one of the first places attacked by Hamas on October 7. The billionaire, accompanied by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the residence of Ofir Liebstein, who fought back against Hamas but tragically lost his life. The situation surrounding Musk has been marred by controversy, with criticism for alleged antisemitic content on X. Recently, he faced accusations of repeating a hideous lie about Jewish people, leading to condemnation from the Biden administration. Musk’s endorsements of far-right viewpoints and agreement with posts promoting antisemitism have stirred further controversy. Musk’s response to an antisemitic conspiracy theory, referring to it as the actual truth, and his comments on a conspiracy theory related to the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue attack have fueled the ongoing criticism.
