A tragic incident unfolded in Anze County, China’s Shanxi Province, where seven individuals lost their lives as scaffolding collapsed suddenly during the concreting process for a structure on a construction site. The catastrophe occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Friday. During the collapse, six workers and one operator of a concrete pump car fell to the base of the structure, which was approximately 30 meters in height. They were subsequently buried under the reinforced concrete. Rescue efforts were initiated promptly, but faced challenges due to factors such as the solidification of the cement and the risk of a secondary collapse of the scaffolding at the site. Local authorities are investigating the incident, and the tragedy serves as a reminder of the risks associated with construction activities and the critical importance of stringent safety measures to prevent such accidents.
