Mr. M.B. Jayaram, former Director of PR & Admin at Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd, revered as a pioneer in the field of Public Relations and Corporate Communication, has been chosen for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 by Utkal University Bhubaneshwar. This esteemed award acknowledges his remarkable and enduring contributions to the realm of PR and communication. The felicitation will take place during the valedictory ceremony of the 7th National Media Conclave on November 23, 2023, at 11 am, hosted at the KIIT Auditorium, Bhubaneshwar. The award will be presented by the Honorable Information Minister of the Government of Odisha. Fondly known as the Bhishma of PR, Mr. Jayaram has dedicated over 45 years to the communication sector, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. He is the esteemed Chairman Emeritus and Chief Mentor of the Public Relations Council of India, serving as the guiding force behind its 58 chapters across India and 6 international chapters. Mr. Jayaram’s illustrious career began in journalism, where he crafted award-winning films and Kannada serials before transitioning into the domain of PR. His expertise and leadership have earned him over 30 National, State, and International Awards, affirming his professional excellence in the field. Renowned for his strategic acumen, he served as a Communication Advisor to former Karnataka Chief Minister, Shri S.M. Krishna, a rare honor bestowed upon a PR professional. Presently, he continues to contribute his expertise as a Communication Advisor to NTPC Ltd. Kudgi. A multifaceted personality, Mr. Jayaram is a revered guest faculty at various universities, advocating for professional development in PR. His initiatives include the publication of PR magazines such as Chanakya and Kautilya, addressing corporate professionals and youth respectively, alongside Aadhvika, an exclusive women’s magazine. His global vision is evident through his leadership in organizing 17 Global meets of PRCI in major Indian cities, alongside international seminars and state-level programs. Mr. Jayaram continues to champion the accreditation of PR professionals, emphasizing the crucial role of timely strategies for corporate success despite challenging business environments.
