Tragedy struck in the vicinity of Bhashyam Circle, Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, as a 74-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a scooter while returning home after purchasing medicine. The distressing incident unfolded close to the Ram Mandir playground, near the Rajajinagar traffic police station, occurring at approximately 9:50 pm on Tuesday. The victim, identified as Kamal Rao, a 74-year-old tailor by profession, had ventured out to acquire medication. Unfortunately, as he was making his way back home, he was involved in a collision with a scooter, leading to Rao falling and sustaining severe injuries. Passers-by promptly intervened, rushing Rao to a nearby medical facility. Subsequently, he was transferred to Nimhans for advanced medical care. Regrettably, despite these efforts, Rao succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment. Authorities from the Rajajinagar traffic station police responded to the incident, initiating an investigation and seizing the involved vehicle. The police registered a case in connection with the tragic accident. The incident has brought sorrow and raised concerns about road safety and the vulnerability of pedestrians, emphasizing the need for vigilance and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
