Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya utilized social media to provide crucial updates on the forthcoming launch of Namma Metro’s Yellow Line, slated for February 2024. He emphasized two significant challenges that had the potential to hinder the project: the availability of rolling stock and a delay in the delivery of TCMS (Train Control Management System) software. However, through constructive dialogues with stakeholders, solutions for both obstacles have been successfully arranged. CRRC has made a commitment to deliver two trains before January, while Melco has agreed to provide the beta version of the TCMS software in January 2024. Reflecting on these developments, Tejasvi Surya stated, Upon inspecting the civil works a month ago, I was convinced that the primary hurdle for launching services in early 2024 was the availability of rolling stock and the Train Control Management System (TCMS) software. I also had reservations about meeting the February 2024 deadline, as initially suggested by officials from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). I engaged in discussions with various stakeholders, including CRRC, Titagarh Rail Systems, and BMRCL, to address these issues. In response to these discussions, CRRC committed to delivering two trains ahead of the deadline. Senior BMRCL officials, led by Mr. Dhoke, also visited Beijing and reported productive meetings. Furthermore, Tejasvi Surya visited the Titagarh Rail Systems factory in Kolkata to oversee preparations for manufacturing rolling stock. He discussed issues related to customs, visas, and other challenges with Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister. The Titagarh team pledged their commitment to ensuring the timely delivery of rolling stock, removing any remaining barriers to the Yellow Line’s scheduled launch in February 2024.
