Oppn alleges Cong taking credit for Cauvery Project

Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka accused the Congress of taking undue credit for the Cauvery Phase V water project, inaugurated to supply drinking water to 110 BBMP villages. He claimed the project was initiated by the BJP, with significant progress made under former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa, who had signed a Rs 5,500 crore agreement in 2018. Ashoka alleged that 80% of the work was already completed by the BJP, and that Congress was claiming credit for a nearly finished project.

He also criticized Congress for withdrawing previously allocated infrastructure funds for Bengaluru and failing to act on rain damage in areas like Bellandur. Ashoka challenged the government to compare funding allocations to Bengaluru by the BJP versus Congress and accused Rahul Gandhi of damaging India’s reputation abroad. He urged Congress to stop blaming EVMs for electoral losses and accept results.
