A breakthrough in a mobile phone theft case occurred when a complainant residing near Kundalahalli Gate reported the theft of his mobile phone at HAL Police Station on October 8. He stated that while traveling by bus from Kundalahalli to Graphite India in the morning, an unknown individual discreetly stole his phone from his pocket.
Following the complaint, HAL Police registered a case and initiated an investigation. That same day, officers arrested a suspect near Space Garden in Marathahalli. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to stealing the mobile phone and revealed the involvement of two accomplices. A search of his belongings uncovered 11 additional stolen mobile phones, valued at ₹4 lakh.
Further investigations revealed that the arrested suspect was linked to two other mobile theft cases reported at HAL Police Station. Efforts are underway to trace the owners of the remaining nine phones, while the search continues for the two absconding accomplices. The suspect was remanded to judicial custody on October 9. This operation was led by DCP Dr. Shivakumar Gunare, ACP Priyadarshini Ishwar Sanekoppa, and Inspector Azharuddin M.S., highlighting their effective collaboration in solving the case.
