In the wake of NCP leader Baba Siddique’s tragic murder in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured the public that those responsible for this crime will face justice. No one will be spared. Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty; Shinde stated on Wednesday. Siddique, a former Maharashtra Minister, was shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar, suffering two gunshot wounds to his chest. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he passed away on Saturday night. His last rites were held with full state honors at Bada Qabrastan in Mumbai.

Following the incident, Mumbai Police shared insights into the conspiracy surrounding Siddique’s murder, revealing that the plot had been hatched three months prior. The suspects had visited Siddique’s residence multiple times, allegedly unarmed, as part of their planning, which was coordinated in Pune.

The police have recorded statements from over 15 individuals as part of their investigation. The fourth suspect, Harish, arrested in connection with the case, acted as a middleman. Accused Praveen and Shubham Lonkar, who is still at large, allegedly provided ₹2 lakh to the shooters, Gurmel Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, through Harish. Reports indicate that the shooters learned how to use firearms by watching instructional videos online. So far, the Mumbai Crime Branch has apprehended four suspects, with three others still evading capture.
