A Delhi Patiala House Court has granted the police two days of custody for Deepak Boxer in an extortion case. He was arrested after a shooting incident at a sweet shop in Nangloi, where he allegedly attempted to extort money. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Abhishek Kumar ordered the custody after Boxer, also known as Deepak Pahal, was brought to court following a fresh arrest from Tihar Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court again on October 18.

Other accused individuals, Jatin, Akash, Hariom, and Ankesh Lakra, were also presented from judicial custody, which has been extended for another 13 days, with their next court date set for October 29. Advocate Tarun Chandela represented Boxer.

The Delhi police requested Boxer’s custody to investigate the extortion incident and trace the supply of illegal weapons used in the crime. On September 29, police arrested two sharpshooters linked to Boxer’s gang who had fired shots at the sweet shop, demanding money on behalf of jailed gangsters. During the investigation, police recovered a semi-automatic pistol and a country-made pistol along with live cartridges and a motorcycle used in the crime.

Authorities reported that the suspects threatened the shop owner with extortion and left slips featuring images of deceased gangsters alongside the names of those currently jailed.
