Metro services on Bengaluru’s Purple Line faced a brief disruption on Wednesday morning when a tree fell onto the tracks, halting operations. The incident occurred between the SV Road and Indiranagar stations, causing trains to run only between Indiranagar and Challaghatta, and Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield from 6:15 AM.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) acted promptly, clearing the tree and restoring full service on the line by 8:05 AM. The BMRCL announced on X (formerly Twitter), “The tree obstruction for train movement is cleared, and train services on the complete Purple Line are restored from 8:05 AM.” The corporation expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to commuters during the brief suspension of service.
