Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kumara has come forward to curb the malpractices of officials and staff in government departments. He has strictly instructed the departments to be disciplined and follow the rules. It has been alleged in the past that some officers and staff are roaming freely outside and wasting time on the pretext of drinking tea and coffee, coming and going whenever they want. But so far, such a thing has not been curbed.
It is mandatory to maintain punctuality during the stipulated hours of the office. The head of the department has been given the responsibility of issuing a written warning in case of violation. The staff has also been barred from going out of the office for tea and coffee during duty hours. He has been asked to maintain movement in every office and keep an eye on the staff. District-level officers, Assistant Commissioners, Tahsildars, Office Assistants and Branch heads have been instructed to follow the instructions.
There are allegations that some officers and staff are using vehicles given for government work unauthorisedly. This means that they are using it beyond office hours. In this context, that too will now be curtailed. The Deputy Commissioner has also given instructions on this. Accordingly, every office which has availed the facility of vehicles provided for government work and outsourced basis should be provided with parking at the designated parking lot after completion of duty. It has also been suggested to put the designation of the officer and the name plate for the purpose of the government on the vehicle in respect of availing the facility on outsourced basis.
