BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the state is reeling under drought and that 250 farmers have ended their lives by suicide in the last five months
Kateel told media persons that BJP teams with senior leaders, will tour the drought-hit districts, and will study the reason for farmer suicides. Over 4,000 farmers had ended their lives by suicide during the previous tenure of the Congress government.
The team has been asked to submit its report by November 10, Kateel said.
A team led by BS Yediyurappa will visit Tumakuru and Bengaluru, while CT Ravi will visit Kolar and Chikkaballapur. Aravind Bellada will visit Raichur and Yadgir, and a team led by KS Eshwarappa will travel to Ballari and Koppal. Basanagouda Patil Yatnal will lead a team to Mysuru and Chamarajanagar, while a team led by BY Vijayendra will visit Bidar and Kalaburagi. Sriramulu’s team will visit Haveri and Gadag, while Aravind Limbavalli’s team will visit Belagavi and Chikkodi.
A team led by V Sunil Kumar will travel to Shivamogga and Uttara Kannada, while Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri’s team will visit Davanagere and Chitradurga. DV Sadananda Gowda will lead a team to Mandya and Hassan, while Govinda Karajol’s team will visit Dharwad and Vijayanagara. Nalin Kumar Kateel’s team will visit Vijayapura and Bagalkot and Araga Gnanendra’s team will visit Udupi and Chikkamagaluru.
A team led by R Ashok will be in Mangaluru and Kodagu, while Kota Shrinivas Poojari will lead a team to Bengaluru Rural and Ramanagara, he said.
