Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) DK Shivakumar has arrived in Hyderabad to participate in the Congress Vijayabheri yatra in light of the Telangana assembly elections. Meanwhile, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka has criticized him with sarcastic remarks. The BJP used social media to make satirical comments about DK Shivakumar, accusing him of selling Karnataka’s interests to benefit foreign countries. They questioned why he traveled to Telangana when Karnataka is facing a severe drought and a lack of drinking water for people and livestock, especially since he holds the position of Irrigation Minister. They also raised questions about the purpose of his visit in light of recent incidents, such as the discovery of money in the house of a Telangana Congressman during an IT raid. The BJP used hashtags like #ATMSarkara and #CongressLootsKarnataka to emphasize their points. The state of Karnataka is currently experiencing severe crop damage due to a lack of rain, with approximately 80 percent of crops being affected. Additionally, the lack of reliable electricity supply has caused concerns among food providers.
