The Congress has registered a complaint with Mysore Police Commissioner B. Ramesh concerning threat calls being made to KPCC spokesperson M. Lakshman. It has been alleged that JDS workers have been receiving threat calls for speaking out against former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. In response to baseless allegations made by former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, a press conference was held at Congress Bhavan in Mysore on October 26 at 1 pm. The conference was led by district Congress, rural, and urban presidents, who provided clarification regarding Kumaraswamy’s allegations. The complaint highlights that speaking against Kumaraswamy is being met with threats. On October 27 at 3:15 pm, KPCC spokesperson M. Laxman received a threatening call. Furthermore, on October 28 at 10 am, certain JDS leaders and admirers of HD Kumaraswamy were discussing Kumaraswamy in a press conference in front of Kalamandir premises. It appears that they have been targeted for speaking against Kumaraswamy. The complaint specifies that a man in the alley threatened to attack M. Lakshmana while he was walking and talking about going to his house. The Congress delegation has requested Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth to take action against those responsible for the threat calls.
