Director Kumaar, known for the 2019 comedy flick ‘Chemistry of Cariappa’ starring Chandan Achar and Sanjana Anand, is all set to bring out his new comedy venture ‘Critical Keerthanegalu’. The film is said to be based on IPL betting and many other true events surrounding the sporting event and stars well-known actors Tabla Nani and Suchendra Prasad who play a judge and a lawyer respectively (reportedly). ‘Critical Keerthanegalu’ will release theatrically on the 13th of May.
Though the film has been in the making for quite some time and the first trailer was released more than a year ago, the theatrical release of the film was delayed due to many factors. Writer-director Kumaar is said to have put together an engaging courtroom drama that branches out further into multiple narratives, showcasing the gloomy world of IPL betting. Kumaar, while speaking to an online daily, had stated that as many as IPL betting has caused many suicides across the country, thus destroying many families, and the film attempts to recreate this, albeit with the help of humor. Most of the events shown in the film, reportedly, are based on the real incidents that took place in various parts of Karnataka and also the ones that Kumaar has been personally privy to.
‘Critical Keerthanegalu’ also stars Rajesh Nataranga, Apoorva Bharadwaj, Aruna Balaraj, Raghu Pandeshwar, Dinesh Mangaluru, and many others.
