Hubli

The members of the employees’ association of state educational institutions and teachers are demanding the fulfillment of various demands, including mandatory service security and a minimum basic salary. On the 21st, they will participate in a walk from Hubli to the Dharwad District Collector’s office. More than 100 teachers will commence a padayatra from Rani Channamma circle in the city at 10 in the morning. At 4 in the evening, they plan to submit a petition to the District Collector in Dharwad, as stated by the general secretary of the association, Srishaila Gadadinni during a press conference on Friday. Their demands include extending facilities like heating, bicycles, eggs, milk, and free textbooks to unaided schools. They also seek promotions for associate teachers and lecturers based on service excellence, application of maternity leave rules to unaided school-college teachers, and the fulfillment of various other demands, including provident fund, daily allowance, committed leave, and more. Teachers feel they are being treated unfairly due to the negligence of education department officials, the government’s attitude, and violations of government orders by management boards. They are demanding justice and hope the government will address their concerns.
