Farmer’s Son Bags 16 Gold Medals At Karnataka Veterinary Varsity Convocation

An undergraduate student of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) AN Raghavesh fom Gadag Veterinary College has bagged 16 gold medals and was presented with the haul during the 13th convocation of Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries University conducted at its campus.
Raghavesh wants to fulfil his father’s dream by serving in the field of agriculture through innovations and measures that can increase the income of farmers. Raghavesh, who hails from Avasaradahalli in Maddur taluk in Mandya district, completed his BVSc & AH degree in the year 2021-22 and has secured 16 gold medals in 16 different categories. He was awarded by  Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot.
Raghavesh said he intended to pursue MBBS initially but his father wanted him to become an agricultural scientist but when Raghavesh did not get seat in MBBS later he joined in BVSc and AH. Right now he is studying post graduate at Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Bareli in Uttar Pradesh.
Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot awarded 128 students with gold medals for the year 2020-21 and 2021-22. Of these, a total 70 gold medals were awarded to post-graduate and research scholars and rest to the top scorers of undergraduate courses.

A total of 837 students have been awarded degrees, of which 445 are graduates, 333 post-graduates and 59 doctoral degree recipients. During the convocation event, 262 students received their degrees.
Indian Council of Agricultural Research Director RC Agarwal delivered the convocation speech. Animal Husbandry and Sericulture Minister K Venkatesh was present for the event.
