A housewife was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Babala village in the district. The deceased woman has been identified as Lalbi Qasim Saab. The family of the deceased woman has alleged that her husband Qasim Saab and his family members in Babalad village poisoned her to death.
Around 15 years ago, Qasimsaab of Babala village had married his aunt’s daughter, Lalbi of Sindagi village. Qasimsaab and his wife have five children. After four-five years of marriage, Qasim said he would get married again and was pestering him to bring gold ornaments from his family. Her husband, Qasim Saab, who had been harassing her for the past 15 years, had allegedly assaulted her two years ago and threw her out of the house. Lalbi then came home and lived there.
She was later left at her husband’s house after a compromise panchayat. But since then, he started harassing me again. Lalbi was not fed properly and was beaten up. Finally, they poisoned the food and beat it up to go to the field. As soon as she fell ill, she was immediately rushed to the hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries three days later, her brother Tolesab said.
City Police Commissioner Chetan R said, the deceased, Lalbi, was married to Qasim Saab of Babalad village. After the marriage, Lalbi was harassed by her husband’s family. Lalbi’s family had initially lodged a complaint that she had committed suicide by consuming poison. Now, her husband’s family has alleged that she was poisoned to death. Based on his statement, a case will be registered again and an investigation will be conducted, City Police Commissioner said.
