MLA S.T. Somashekar expressed his satisfaction as a long-awaited permanent drinking water project was launched from the Manchanabele reservoir. Speaking at the inauguration of the project, which cost approximately 130 crore rupees and aims to provide clean drinking water to several villages including Kaniminike Colony, Hosapalaya, Gerupalya, Anchepalya, Kambipura, and Karubele, he emphasized the significance of this project.

In rural areas, the scarcity of rainfall has led to a situation where bore wells must be drilled to a depth of one thousand feet, yet they yield no water. Over time, there have been persistent demands for a drinking water project to address this issue, along with concerns and legal challenges. MLA Somashekar assured that these challenges have been successfully addressed, and the drinking water project has been established as a permanent solution. He further stated that the villages within his constituency will receive a reliable supply of drinking water from the Manchanabele Reservoir in the near future.

The launch event was attended by various local dignitaries, including Kumbalagud Gram Panchayat President C. Ramakrishna, Vice President Gopalakrishna, and other community leaders. This development signifies a significant step forward in ensuring access to clean and dependable drinking water for the region’s residents.
