Joining Congress Is A Baseless Rumour, Former MLA Preetham Gowda

I have come into politics on the basis of ideology. When I went to the polls, we had only 6,000 votes. Today we have gone to 78,000 from our workers. Will we leave this and go to the party which got 4,000 votes? Former BJP MLA Preetham Gowda made it clear that he will remain with the BJP and not the Congress.

Responding to a media query on whether some BJP leaders, including Preetham Gowda, are likely to join the Congress, he said, what is the need to build a house ourselves, paint it and enter the house and build a new house.  I don’t go to another farmhouse or guest house and sleep because relatives have come. There are workers to take over our house.  I am the first one to dream of Narendra Modi becoming the Prime Minister again. We are not going to go to any other party. There are people who come to our party from the Congress. However, there has been no discussion on that as of now. We will try to bring in local Congress leaders in Hassan Lok Sabha constituency so that the BJP can win in the coming days, he said.

Reacting to Minister Ramalinga Reddy’s statement on Shivamogga brawl case, he said, I condemn his statement. In Shivamogga, peace is being disturbed repeatedly. I don’t know who gives feedback to the Ministers and what is their mindset. You too have children, grandchildren and the next generation. For them to have a good society, people with this mindset should not be tolerated irrespective of their religion. It is a tragedy that instead of defusing the situation, they are giving them a clean chit, he said.
