Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office and UAE Media Council, explored AI-driven innovation in the media and entertainment sectors during his recent visit to India. He met with executives from DNEG, a top visual entertainment services company known for film, television, and multiplatform content creation.

In Mumbai, Al Hamed visited filming locations for the epic movie Ramayana, where he met director Namit Malhotra and DNEG’s Chairman and CEO. They discussed potential collaborations in visual entertainment and advanced technologies, including training Emirati talent to produce cutting-edge visual content for films, TV, and interactive platforms. This visit supports the UAE’s goal of boosting investments in visual entertainment, aiming to position the country as a regional and international hub for creativity and innovation.

Al Hamed stated, We are eager to forge partnerships with leading countries in the visual entertainment sector, focusing on building a comprehensive media ecosystem. He highlighted the UAE’s plan to increase its AI investments from $3.47 billion in 2023 to $5.22 billion this year, making it a significant destination for AI professionals.

He emphasized the value of exchanging experiences with India in media and arts, noting that AI can enhance content quality and streamline processes. Ultimately, Al Hamed expressed a desire to combine the UAE’s expertise in AI with India’s rich cultural experience to strengthen the creative sector and contribute to the national GDP. The visit underlines the UAE’s ambition to become an innovation leader by fostering research and adopting new technologies.
