Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, shared a positive outlook on the relationship between China and India, emphasizing that a strong partnership would benefit both nations. He stated, China and India have been good neighbors for thousands of years. As two developing countries and emerging economies, our good relationship will serve our mutual interests and contribute to global development and prosperity.
Xu called for resolving current issues and expressed a desire for improved relations, saying, We are very important neighbors, and we should turn the page quickly to establish sustainable bilateral ties. He reiterated China’s commitment to working with India to enhance their relationship, aligning with President Droupadi Murmu’s message to President Xi Jinping on the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. In her message, President Murmu stressed the significance of peaceful and stable relations, while External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar noted the ongoing border tensions affecting diplomatic ties.
During discussions with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Xu highlighted the state’s potential as a hub for infrastructure and cultural tourism. He expressed admiration for Odisha’s economic development and strategic plans for infrastructure, including highways and sea ports. Xu hopes for increased Chinese tourism and investment in the region, stating, I look forward to more Chinese tourists and investments, strengthening ties between China and Odisha.
