Preparations have begun for Dasara celebrations and private durbar at Mysore Palace. In a press release, the Mysore Palace Management Board said that the entry of the public to the Palace has been restricted for a few days as the Sharannavarathri celebrations of the royal family are held in the Palace.

Tourists to the palace have been restricted from 10 am to noon as the gem-studded throne alignment will take place on October 9 in view of the traditional celebration of Sharannavarathri by the royal family. In addition to this, entry to the palace has been restricted to the public from 10 am to 2 pm in view of the private durbar to be held on the first day of Sharannavarathri on October 15. Similarly, a notification has been issued restricting the entry of the public from 10 am to 2 pm on account of Ayudha Puja on October 23.

The procession will be held in the palace in the morning on Vijayadashami day on October 24 and then in the afternoon, tourists will be barred from entering the palace for the entire day due to the Jumboo Savari procession of Dasara. Those who have a pass can watch the Jumboo Savari in the palace courtyard.

In addition to this, entry to the palace has been banned from 10 am to 2 pm in view of the throne immersion on November 8, said Subramanya, Deputy Director of the Palace’s governing body.

All in all, preparations have already begun for the royal sharannavarathri puja programmes conducted by the royal scion Yaduveer Krishna Datta Chamaraja Wadiyar. He will perform a jewel-studded throne arrangement, a private durbar, Ayudha Puja at the palace and Sharannavarathri puja as per royal traditions on Vijayadashami day.
