Indian badminton stars PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy have progressed to the Round of 16 at the 19th Asian Games. Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu secured her spot by defeating Wen-Chi Hsu of Chinese Taipei with a score of 21-10, 21-15. Sindhu, who has won silver and bronze medals at the Olympics, will face Wardani Putri Kusuma of Indonesia in the next round. HS Prannoy, who had been nursing an injury, made a strong comeback by defeating Batdavaa Munkhbat of Mongolia with a score of 21-9, 21-12 in just 26 minutes. Prannoy dominated the first game, and his early lead in the second game ensured his victory. In other matches, Asmita Chaliha faced a tough challenge and was defeated by Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung with a score of 17-21, 16-21 in the women’s singles Round of 32.
