‘Jawan’ Star Aaliyah Qureishi Thought She Was Being Pranked When She Got The Casting Call

Being cast in a Shah Rukh Khan movie is a dream come true for many, and Aaliyah Qureishi, a singer-actor, had this dream become a reality when she was selected for a role in the film ‘Jawan.’ However, when she received the call informing her of her casting in an SRK film, she initially thought it was a prank. The moment was so surreal that she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Aaliyah Qureishi, who plays one of the six members in Shah Rukh’s squad of superwomen in the film, shared her casting journey in an interaction with India Today. She mentioned that she was offered the role back in 2021 when she was actively seeking work and reaching out to casting directors in the industry. Finally, she received a call from Mukesh Chhabra’s office, where she was informed about a film under Shah Rukh Khan’s banner that required six girls for specific roles.  Aaliyah expressed her excitement about the audition opportunity but tried to keep her expectations in check, knowing that there would be tough competition. She prepared for the audition, performed a scene written by Atlee, and then waited anxiously for the results. To her astonishment, a few days later, she received a call confirming her role in the movie. She was in such shock that she questioned whether it was a prank and even asked if she needed to undergo another round of auditions. However, she was assured that the part was genuinely hers.
