Assurances Council Panel Members Inspect Projects

Members of the Karnataka Legislative Council Committee for Government Assurances conducted spot inspections on various government schemes under the Commerce and Industry and Urban Development Departments in the city. Committee members led by chairman and MLC BM Farooq visited the Over Dimensional Consignment (ODC) road project in the city. Later, the team also visited the manhole sewer line and sewage treatment plant project at Ullal Kodi in Mangaluru constituency. The committee members held a meeting with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) officials. The officials said the second LPG cavern facility being developed at the LPG Import Facility Terminal in Mangaluru at a cost of Rs 854 crore is expected to be completed by next year.
Farooq was accompanied by Committee Members Tejaswini Gowda, PH Poojar, S Rudhregowda, Thalawar Sabanna and Thippannappa. Deputy Commissioner MP Mullai Muhilan, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat CEO K Anand and Joint Director of Commerce and Industry Gokuldas Kamath were present. The Committee also held a review meeting with officials of Commerce and Industry, Urban Development, Environment, Health, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport and Fire and emergency departments.
